Aloha! Any parents out there wishing there was a program that could offer their child help with their schoolwork or offer their kid assistance with how to cope with a recent move, all at a minimal cost? I want to share some invaluable information!

I recently found about an amazing FREE after-school program for military children and youth called Operation Hero. The program has many goals for its participants, which include helping the kids with their confidence, improvement in the academic arena, supporting social skills growth, as well as teaching the kids how to cope with the challenges of military life. The program meets twice a week starting February 26th-May 10th and space is limited. There are currently openings for the following schools: Mokapu Elementary School, Daniel K. Inouye Elementary School and Wheeler Middle School.

If your child attends any of these schools and you are interested in enrolling them in this program, you can call the Wheeler YMCA Branch directly for registration information at (808) 624-5645.
