Fruits and Veggies- More Matters Month
September is quickly approaching and we get to celebrate Fruits and Veggies- More Matters Month! You are probably wondering, um what exactly does this mean? Well I’m here to tell you and help you get involved!
Fruits and Veggies- More Matters Month, focuses on eating more fruits and vegetables. This means educate yourself, your kids, and even try a new recipe! Did you know more then 90% of adults and children DO NOT eat the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables? However this is an easy goal to accomplish! There are just 2 facts to remember: 1) Fill half of your plate with fruits and veggies 2) All forms- fresh, frozen, canned, dried, and 100% juice count towards your daily intake.

3 cups frozen mixed vegetables with mushrooms
5 slices Italian bread (1 oz. slices; each ~ 1” thick and 5” long)
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ cup prepared pizza sauce
1 cup finely chopped tomato
½ cup very finely diced onion
1 tablespoon dried oregano leaves
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 ½ tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
