Local Hockey Team: The El Paso Rhinos January 26th-February 11th

My family is full of hockey lovers!  My husband played throughout his teens and still straps on his skates for an occasional weekend game.  Before coming to Ft Bliss, we were stationed at Ft Campbell and had several opportunities to attend Nashville Predators games. In 2015 we were at the first playoff game between the Predators and the Chicago Blackhawks.  We thought moving to Ft Bliss would put an end to our live hockey experiences, but I am here to tell you even the desert has hockey!

The El Paso Rhinos, members of the Western States Hockey League, have been going strong since 2006.  http://www.elpasorhinos.com/The Rhinos host home games at the El Paso County Coliseum located at 4100 Paisano Drive which is only about a 10- minute drive from Cassidy Gate using Highway 54.  So here is the best part of attending a Rhino’s game, they offer free tickets to past and present service members and their dependents.  Yes, I said free!  Tickets can be picked up at the El Paso County Event Center Ticket Box Office.  You will need to show a valid military ID and have all dependents present when picking up tickets.   While at the Box Office sign up for a chance to participate in the Military Shoot to Win on ice promo.  You might get a chance to show off your slap shot.

The Rhinos will be hosting home games Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays beginning January 26 through February 11 followed by a few away games.  They will return home February 23 to finish out the regular season.  Not only are The Rhinos currently leading their division they are leaders in our community taking an active role the El Paso community most recently playing street hockey with local youths.  So, what are you waiting for?  Grab your spouse, a friend or the whole family and head over to the Coliseum to see The El Paso Rhinos in action!
