Pets are crafty animals! They get out of gates, run through the front door, and break out of open windows. Is that just what my animals do? May is national “Chip Your Pet” month, and they are not talking about fried tortillas. It is highly recommended that you chip your furry animals. If you are ever on vacation, and heaven forbid your animal gets lost, the chip can save the heartache of never seeing Spot or Fluffy again. Check out your local veterinarian’s office to see if they are running a special this month on microchips!
May is also, “National Service Dog Eye Examination Month”. The American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists hosts this annual event when over 200 veterinary ophthalmologists donate their services to provide eye exams to service dogs in the US and Canada. There are hundreds of Veterans on the list to receive service dogs to help with PTSD, missing limbs, and countless other disabilities that hinder Veterans. By supporting this great event, we can keep their helpers healthy! Jubilation Y’all!~
