National Whiskey Sour Day!

Congratulations for surviving another week. It’s finally time for Happy Hour! Did you know there’s a National Whiskey Sour Day? I’m always learning something new, I tell you. This year, National Whiskey Sour Day, August 25th falls on a Friday! Coincidence? I think not! I kept this year’s Whiskey Sour really simple, but absolutely delicious. Using a homemade sweet and sour mix is DEFINITELY the way to go! It’s SUPER EASY too! Check out the recipe below!

Whiskey Sour

  • Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey
  • 3 large lemons
  • 4 limes
  • 2/3 cup Simple Syrup (boil 1 cup of water & 1 cup of sugar until dissolved. Let cool completely)
  • Maraschino Cherries
  • Shaker full of ice

First and longest step is juicing all the citrus, but I’m telling you, it’s completely worth it! After juicing your lemons and limes, you should have about 1 cup of citrus juice. Add this to your 2/3 cup of simple syrup and pour it into the shaker full of ice.

Add 3/4 cup of Jack Daniel’s to the shaker and shake thoroughly. This will make about 4 cocktails. You can absolutely make this ahead of time and keep in the fridge. I wouldn’t add any ice to the shaker if that’s the case.

Pour your whiskey sours into glasses and add a couple maraschino cherries. An orange wedge is a great garnish as well. YUM!

These whiskey sour are SO refreshing and delicious. Just enough sweet and sour to keep your mouth happy. 😉 I highly recommend you make a batch this weekend!

With just a few basic ingredients you can pick up from the commissary and exchange, you can create a delicious cocktail to share with your friends. Perfect for a relaxing Friday celebrating National Whiskey Sour Day! Cheers!
