Open Cockpit Day Honoring Women in Aviation And Aerospace March 3rd

When I was little I would always make my cardboard box rocket and blast off to the moon. Growing up, Apollo 13 was one of my go to movies. Now, I (along with all of you) have an opportunity to meet a woman of aerospace right in our own backyard!

On Saturday, March 3, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, the Pacific Aviation Museum will be hosting an event honoring all the Women of Aviation and Women’s History Month. The event will have featured speaker, Wally Funk, presenting in the Museum Theatre at 1:30 PM. Who is Wally Funk, you ask? She is one of the original Mercury 13 astronauts! Meaning she trained and qualified as an astronaut in the 1960’s but was never allowed to go into space. She is also the first female air safety investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board. This is one amazing woman and I hope you take this opportunity to see her!

This event is included with admission to the museum. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit:
