Throne of Fire – Week 3

Carter is off on his own adventure to find Zia. It’s not like the fate of the world rests on a time line right? He and Bes go one way, while Sadie and Walt head off on their own journey. Carter already knows that finding Zia is going to be difficult, but what they encounter drains him in more ways than one.

When they find her, she is in an underground tomb, hidden under the Nile River. They are attacked by a few water demons, who have been guarding the tomb. Once they get into the tomb, they find Zia, in a deep sleep, holding the traditional symbols of power of the Egyptian rulers. Carter knows that waking her is a risk, but he is convinced it is the right thing to do. Once they leave the tomb however, they find Desjardins and Menshikov waiting for them. Meshikov is excited to finally have Carter, and is ready to take him to trial. Zia is caught in the middle and not sure who to believe at the moment. What she has known is all gone, and everything has changed during the three months that she was asleep.

Sadie and Walt are trying to find the last piece of the book of Ra. They have been told it is hidden with the golden mummies, but when they get into the tomb, they find they are surrounded by mummies, and a very cranky Roman ghost, who just wants to be able to pass into the afterlife. When they refuse to use the knife for the opening of the mouth ceremony, Mad Claude, awakens the rest of the mummies. Sadie and Walk only have a short amount of time to find the scroll, and make it back to the meeting place, but just when they thought it could not get any worse, they are surrounded by hundreds of angry mummies!

This week we are reading Chapters 13-18
