Aloha everyone! Looking for something fun to do this Friday afternoon? You’ll want to check this event out!! Island Palm Communities is hosting National Night Out at the Kaena Community Center on August 10th from 4pm-6:30pm. National Night Out, which has been promoted across the country to bring communities together by heightening safety and crime prevention awareness, is an event the entire family will enjoy!
Let your kids ride their bikes to the event as they’ll be able to ride through an awesome bike patrol course. There will also be cool safety exhibits and fun activities that include face painting, balloon twisting, inflatable slides, and tot-train rides. Local Firefighters, Military Police, and K-9 units will also be participating in some demonstrations that your family will be sure to enjoy.
I took my kids to this event last year and they had a amazing time with all the FREE activities. Plus, if you’re new to the area this event is a great way to meet some of the families in your local community. While you’re there, be sure to grab some information pertaining to the Neighborhood Watch Program. My son recently had his bike, scooter, and helmet stolen from our front porch and we haven’t had any luck recovering those stolen items. I feel it’s important as a community to really look out for one another and to build and maintain a strong sense of security. Definitely grab that watch program information so you can help keep our neighborhoods safe and secure.
Also, you don’t have to live in the Kaena Community to attend this event. This event was held at a different community center last year and my kids and I were still able to attend. I hope to see you there!
