While most Commissary locations offer coupons in store; you can take your couponing to the next level by requesting coupons from your favorite companies. It is not a guarantee that you will receive coupons in the mail but many companies do have mailing lists and offer special savings, offers and sweepstakes throughout the year.

Do you get tired of looking for coupons in the newspaper? I started to get frustrated, so I decided to try something different. I recently spent about an hour sending out emails and I was pleasantly surprised at the responses I received. You can also contact companies by writing a letter. In about 10 days, I received many coupons via the mail. Some companies did respond and inform me that they did not mail out coupons. While I was a little bummed out, I was happy that they replied. The best way to contact a company is to navigate to their website and look for the “Contact Us or Feedback Section”.

If you would like to give this strategy a try, you should draft up a request. Be sure to be polite, compliment the company’s products, show your interest in receiving coupons and be sure to include your address within your request. 

Here is a general template you could use:

Hello!
My family loves using [name of brand], and I like to stock up whenever I can. Do you ever send coupons to loyal customers? If so, I would absolutely love to receive some! Thank you so much for a great product. I appreciate your consideration.

So I searched around and tried to figure out what quick, simple snack could I whip up with ingredients I already had. Then, I got it! Lucky Charms Crispy Treats! I mean c’mon…what is better then Lucky Charms mixed with marshmallows?? Luckily, in my house, Lucky Charms rules all and so we always have a steady supply of our favorite cereal…AND marshmallows! Let’s just say we are also s’mores fans too, so those are pretty plentiful in our pantry. Now, this batch I made was a small one because I’ll be honest, I can’t find my big baking dish! However, I made sure these were still a little thick so that way I could make up for them being in a small baking dish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Cups Marshmallows
  • 1 Stick of Butter
  • 2 Cups Lucky Charms Cereal

Directions:

  • Grease your baking dish with coconut oil or butter
  • Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.
  • Once the butter is melted, add your marshmallows, and turn the heat down to medium-low.
  • After everything is combined, pour your Lucky Charms into your baking dish.
  • Pour the butter/marshmallow mixture on top.
  • Stir gently to try and not crush the cereal.
  • Once it is all mixed and spread evenly, place into the refrigerator to set (about 30 minutes).
  • Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes:

  • I used regular size marshmallows, but you can use minis if you prefer!

It is no secret my kiddos love these amazing little treats! They waited patiently in the kitchen while I cut up all the squares. Amaiah’s little fingers tried to get close to the counter, but she eventually settled into her chair and waited. These are a for sure quick and simple treat that the whole family can enjoy!

I am always searching for a good mocktail, so I decided to try this one out. This mocktail combined two of my favorite drinks – orange juice and no sugar lemon-lime soda. I made a whole pitcher of this drink, because my husband loved the taste of this mocktail! The best part, is that it is super simple to make. Just combine all the ingredients and serve over ice. 

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. Orange Juice
  • 2 oz. No Sugar Lemon-Lime Soda
  • 2 oz. Club Soda
  • ice

Directions:

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients and stir with a mini whisk.
  2. Add ice.
  3. Enjoy!

Notes:

  • You can always use a regular Lemon-Lime Soda
  • You can garnish with a dried orange wheel.
  • You may even want to experiment with other juices too?!?!

This drink is so refreshing and it was the perfect porch side drink for us while the kids played outside. I was going to put in oranges, but when you live in a house with two kids that love fruit, sometimes it disappears before you can use it.  Either way, I know you will enjoy this mocktail, especially after a long day at work. It was the perfect ending to a stressful week.

I usually bring a side dish to our little celebration, but this year my mom asked me to bring a dessert.  Now I will be honest, I am not a great baker BUT I do make some yummy Rice Krispie Treats. I used a simple cookie cutter for the egg shapes so I didn’t have to attempt to make ovals on my own. The best part was that I got an Easter cookie egg decorating kit and had my kiddos help in the decorating fun! They wanted to try one so bad, so of course I gave in and let them get a sample.

Pasta is a comfort food in this house. So when it is cold outside, there is nothing better than a hot bowl of pasta to warm everyone up! I found this great recipe from Pepsi. These meatballs are great for nightly dinners because they cook up super quick! What is even better is that these meatballs can be a great meal prep meal as well since it stores really well in the fridge. The recipe calls for pork, but turkey is a great option as well! What You Need

Instructions

  1. Gently mix together ground pork, 1/3 cup crushed bagel chips, egg, onion, milk, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper. Shape and roll into 20 meatballs.
  2. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet set over medium heat; cook meatballs, in batches, for 8 to 12 minutes or until browned all over and cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400˚F. Cook pasta according to package directions. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes; toss with tomato sauce.
  4. Divide pasta among four (3/4 cup) greased gratin dishes. Top with meatballs, cheese and remaining crushed bagel chips. Bake for about 10 minutes or until heated through and tops are golden brown. Sprinkle with parsley.
  5. Tips: Alternatively, instead of pan-frying meatballs, bake them on parchment paper–lined baking sheet in 400˚F oven for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. For extra-cheesy gratins, sprinkle some shredded mozzarella cheese over pasta.

That means football and fun! In this house, we get together during the big game, no matter who is playing. So when looking for something simple and fun to drink, I wanted something that me, my mom, and sister could enjoy. Well, low and behold, I found this amazing recipe from Pepsi that incorporated all our favorite things! The best part, it is super simple to make and delicious! Check it out below:

What You Need

Instructions

  1. Fill cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add vodka, cognac, pinot noir, orange juice, and fruit. Stir to incorporate. Pour contents into large wine glass.
  3. Top with Sierra Mist and garnish with a slice of strawberry and a lemon wheel.

We used strawberries, blueberries, and oranges as our fruit. This cocktail is so much fun because you can make it your own. If you are not a pinot noir fan, switch it out. This is all about your preference, and either way, it is going to be a fantastic drink for any party. We made ours in a pitcher just like in the picture! P.S. the Tropicana orange juice really made this a smooth, tasty sangria! Try it out, you will love it!

And thinking about dessert, I found this great recipe from Pepsi! It involves pretzels, marshmallows, butter, and chocolate chips. Is your mouth watering yet? I showed this recipe to my kiddos, and they instantly voted yes! Talk about a hit in my house. This dessert is a must try! Check it out below:

What You Need:
• ROLD GOLD® Tiny Twists Pretzels 12 CUPS
• Butter, unsalted 3 TBSP
• Mini marshmallows 6 CUPS
• Pretzel salt 1 TSP
• Mini chocolate chips 1 1/4 CUP
• Mini marshmallows for topping 2 CUPS

Directions:
1. Combine butter and marshmallows in a 6-quart saucepan until melted and smooth like
fluff.
2. Cook marshmallows for 1 minute after they have completely melted.
3. Add 12 cups pretzels and pretzel salt and stir gently with a rubber spatula over a very
low flame. Gently press the contents of pot into a well-greased half hotel pan lined with
parchment and allow to set up.
4. Before serving sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips and marshmallows for topping then
toast gently under a broiler until marshmallows begin to turn golden.
5. Allow to completely cool before cutting.

This recipe is so super simple and cooks quick. 20 minutes and you have an amazing treat to

What You Need

Instructions

  1. Smash the garlic cloves, sprinkle with a generous pinch of salt and, with the flat side of a large knife, mash and smear mixture to a coarse paste.
  2. Stir garlic paste, the ¼ teaspoon salt, Pepsi, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire, chili powder, 1 teaspoon black pepper, ½ teaspoon hot sauce, and allspice together in a small saucepan.
  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until thickened, about 45 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool slightly, stir in the lime juice and season with black pepper and hot sauce, to taste.
