Every Spring, when the flowers start peeking out, the birds are chirping before dawn and the sun stays out a little longer, and front porch sitting becomes my favorite past time, I feel the need to add a little Spring and Easter to my front porch…but what I don’t like…spending a lot of money to do it!
Last year after Easter, I found some adorable little easter egg ornaments on sale (yeah baby!!!) so this year I decided to whip something up to show them off! I’ve seen lots of cute ideas for tabletop Easter trees, but I decided to go a little bigger, and a little more organic than a fake styrofoam tree!
I started by taking my handy dandy little helper with me for a walk. We are super lucky to have a wooded area right across the street so it wasn’t a long walk lol. We checked through several piles of fallen branches, and after a few minutes he found the perfect one! We trimmed it up little, then gave it a quick coat of white spray paint that I already had on hand! Any color of spray paint would work for this project! Then we trimmed a few branches from a bush in our front yard to get some of the greenery I wanted to add.
Mixed with some artificial flowers leftover from a different project, a metal flower pot, a mason jar for water, some rocks and I was in business with a whole new diy decor project for FREE! I placed the mason jar in the bottom of the vase with water, added the live branches, then filled in around then with the branches and flowers. I tossed in some rocks to help stabilize the base, and I was done! Added the egg ornaments and a few bunnies and my front porch is all ready for spring and Easter!
