Chocolate Truffle Shot

Happy Friday y’all! I’m SUPER excited about this week’s Happy Hour. It is so quick and tasty! I have decided to turn my love for chocolate truffles into an alcoholic shot to drink! Plus, since St. Patty’s Day is tomorrow, I used Jameson Irish Whiskey to help celebrate. Spoiler alert: it was a great decision. Ha!

This recipe calls for chocolate liqueur. Yes, you read that right! I was able to pick some up at my local exchange while grabbing the Jameson. Godiva makes an amazing liqueur in white chocolate, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate. Any of these would work in this recipe in my opinion! We’re a dark chocolate household though so that’s what I picked and it’s amazing! Seriously,  it is so yummy. I’ll be looking up recipes to add this dark chocolate liqueur in from now on.

In a shaker (or, in my case, a jar) full of ice, you are going to use a 2:1 ratio of chocolate liqueur to Irish whiskey. I started with 1/4 cup whiskey and then added 1/2 cup chocolate liqueur. You can make as much or as little as you like, which is great when serving a crowd of people!

Shake it all until it is ice cold and deliciously combined. Pour the mixture into shot glasses.

I’m so glad I made a little extra in my first batch. It is SO good!! The dark chocolate liqueur isn’t too sweet, but has a really great finish. The whiskey has just enough spice to balance it out. They go down so easy!
