Summer is here! I’m excited for the warm weather, grilling outside, and some refreshing cold treats! Ice cream is always a summer staple around our house. Yesterday, I was able to show my kiddos how we can give our ice cream a twist. I showed them how to make floats! Traditional floats are made with root beer, which definitely a staple of ours, but I allowed the kids to pick the soda of their choice. So, we grabbed our sodas and vanilla ice cream from the Commissary and headed home to make our treats.
Ingredients:
- Favorite sodas
- Vanilla Ice Cream
Directions:

- Scoop vanilla ice cream into your glass.

- Pour soda over top of the ice cream, watch for foam to develop at the top so that you don’t overflow the glass.
- Serve & Enjoy!
Notes:
- You can use any soda! We have also tried grape, strawberry, and of course, root beer floats!
- You can adjust your ice cream to soda ratio to your own preference. My family loves more ice cream while I prefer more soda.
We love having these all summer long, but the fun doesn’t stop when summer does! We enjoy these throughout the year too! I wonder what version you may try next?!?!
