Merry Christmas, everyone! Okay, its still a few days early, but I’m in the mood to start celebrating. My most favorite holiday tradition is definitely drinking Eggnog. I love it so much! I’m glad it’s only around during the holidays because I would spend so much buying it all year long! Today, I’ve got a simple Spiked Eggnog recipe to help you celebrate the holidays. Also, guess what? December 24th is National Eggnog Day!! Just one more reason to pick up some Eggnog on your next commissary run! You can turn this recipe into a large punch bowl serving, but my kids adore Eggnog just as much as me, so I keep the alcohol separate for when they want their own glass of the good stuff. 😉
Spiked Eggnog Cocktail
- Eggnog, store bought or homemade. You can buy flavored or unflavored. I love the subtle sweetness in Vanilla Spice Eggnog
- Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
- Kahlúa or Coffee Liqueur
- Your favorite spices such as Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cardamom. These are totally optional
This recipe is really simple and REALLY delicious. It definitely puts me in the holiday spirit! Simply add a 1 ounce shot of Captain Morgan to your glass. Top with a 1 ounce shot of Kahlúa and then add your eggnog.
If you’re making a pitcher or punch bowl, add 1/4 cup of rum and a 1/4 cup of kahlúa to 1 quart of Eggnog. Stir to combine.
Top each glass with a sprinkling of spices to add a little extra holiday cheer. I used cinnamon and nutmeg. It’s so delicious!
My husband wandered in while I was testing this recipe and insisted on his own glass. 😉 We both approve whole heartedly of the Spiked Eggnog! Now I have to buy more to celebrate National Eggnog Day this weekend!
As always, we ask that you please enjoy responsibly. The holidays are a time to come together and celebrate. NEVER drink and drive.
