Livin’ The S’mores Life with Honey Maid®

Summer is upon us. Those hot days ending in cool nights are calling my name. The best part about our summers is the weekly bonfires in the backyard and weekend camping trips. We have at least one night a week where we roast hot dogs over a fire and end the night with s’mores for dessert. Yes, we are all about the #SmoresLife.

I have tried practically every variety of s’mores you could imagine. We have used every kind of chocolate candy under the sun to create the most decadent creations. This week we are having a huge campout and I wanted to bring something extra special to make our first official camping trip, as a family of 6, more memorable. So, I found a s’more recipe that I believe will top all the other versions we have tried
thus far. We are taking #SmoresLife to a whole other level. Let me introduce you to Toasted Coconut S’mores.

Toasted Coconut S’mores

graham cracker smore with toasted coconut
Prep Time: 10 min Total Time: 10 min
Makes 8 servings, 1 s’more each.

Ingredients

  • 8 HONEY MAID Honey Grahams, broken crosswise in half (16 squares)
  • 2 Milk chocolate bars (1.55 oz. each), each broken into 4 pieces
  • 8 hot toasted marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup sweetened flaked coconut, toasted
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce

Preparation

  • Place 8 graham squares in a single layer on a large plate or tray.
  • Top with chocolate pieces, marshmallows, and coconut. Drizzle with caramel sauce.
  • Cover with remaining graham squares to make 8 s’mores, gently pressing top graham squares into s’more filling to secure.

Tips

Caution
Since the toasted marshmallows will be hot, adult supervision is required.

How to set up a Make-Your-Own S’mores bar

Prepare all ingredients as directed except do not toast the marshmallows. Place
marshmallows and all remaining ingredients on a large board. If desired, you can
instead set out your favorite varieties of ice cream topping to choose from. Let
everyone make their own s’more, inviting the adults to toast the marshmallows just
before using to assemble the s’mores.

Substitute

Prepare using salted caramel sauce or dulce de leche.

Special Extra

Add a banana slice, small pineapple slice, or strawberry slice over the coconut layer
on each s’more before drizzling with the caramel sauce.

We tested these s’mores at home following the directions above and they were absolutely delicious. I know taking them camping will be much messier, but the taste trumps the mess that will ensue. I have already toasted some coconut and have it packed up with the rest of the supplies. And you know I made sure my
s’mores stack up to the best ooey-gooey, crispy meltiness with Honey Maid Grahams.

So be sure you head over to your local commissary and grab all the ingredients you need, including those Honey Maid Grahams, to start living the #SmoreLife.
