Irish Coffee

Happy Friday y’all! I’ve got a yummy happy hour drink for you to make this weekend. So, it’s March, which makes me think of St. Patty’s Day, of course! Everyone’s Irish for the day on the 17th, right? It’s also still just a bit nippy outside. Even here in the south, we’re going through a little cold snap again. So, I thought what better way to stay warm AND celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than to make a nice hot Irish Coffee. YUM. This recipe is SO easy and so delicious. All you need is good, strong coffee, Irish Whiskey, and Cream (which is optional!)

Start with a hot cup of coffee. If you’re using heavy whipping cream, go ahead and whip it until soft peaks forms. If you need sweetener in your coffee or if you’re using a flavored syrup (hazelnut would be AMAZING in this!) add that to the black coffee. Pour in a shot, 1 ounce, of Irish Whiskey. We use Jameson because it is oh so tasty.

Give that a stir and lightly dollop or pour your cream in the coffee. It melts beautifully into the hot coffee making it creamy, warm and delicious, with just the right amount of kick from the whiskey!

It’s almost too pretty to drink! Almost. 😉 This is a great cup of coffee to enjoy on a lazy Saturday or after a big dinner. St Patty’s Day is on a Saturday this year too so it’s a win-win!

If you want to add a little more creaminess and an extra kick, try adding Bailey’s Irish Cream to the coffee. Holy yumminess! Bailey’s and coffee really go hand in hand.
