THREE Ingredient Cereal Bars

It’s almost (finally!) my favorite time of year, Spring! I love everything about Spring time. The warmer weather, blooming flowers, the fun upcoming holidays. It’s almost March, which means it’s almost Spring and St Paddy’s Day! Now I have a GREAT excuse to make rainbow colored foods! Ha ha! I will try and make a rainbow out of anything and this yummy snack is no exception. It’s perfect for a Spring or St Patrick’s Day party. Best of all? There’s only THREE ingredients! So easy! Whip some up today for your kiddos!

Three Ingredient Cereal Bars

  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 40 Jet-Puffed marshmallows
  • 6 cups of rainbow colored cereal. I used General Mills Trix Cereal!

This is a pretty basic cereal bar recipe. It’s even on the back of the marshmallow package! Melt the butter in the microwave in a large dish, about 45 seconds. I used a large mixing bowl. (Pro-tip: Spray the bowl with non-stick cooking spray to make clean up a breeze! I also spray my wooden spoon and cookie cutters!) Add the 40 marshmallows, mix well and microwave 60-90 seconds until the marshmallows are melted. Add the 6 cups of cereal and mix well.

You can spread them in a greased 13×9 dish or I used a baking sheet covered in wax paper and greased. It makes a thinner bar and it’s easier to cut into shapes!

Once they’re completely cool and firm, you can cut them into bars. I like to mix things up and use cookie cutters. We did circles, flowers, easter eggs, and even stars! I have a bunch of random cookie cutters (shout out to my mama for gifting them to me!) so just have fun with it!

Fruity, gooey, sweet, and crunchy cereal bars make  a great after school snack or dessert. These bars are SO tasty!
