Good day, dear readers! November never seems to sneak in, although I am sure that Halloween has something to do with that. I absolutely love Halloween, but I am never quite ready to jump into a new month. November brings so many great things, and a turkey feast with friends and family is one of them!
This month, we are reading The Hangman’s Daughter by Oliver Pötzsch, and it looks amazing! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! While we start a new book, it is time to look ahead to December’s book choice! As hard as it is to think that November is here – now we are thinking DECEMBER! This year is flying by!
Years ago, Rebecca was our very first read for the My Military Savings Book Club. While we are drawing down 2020, it seemed only fitting to do a throwback book with one of our top favorites! This has been a book that stuck with me for so many different reasons! With our many new members, it seemed fitting to share one of our favorites. Rebecca was not only the first but one of the best-received books that we have covered. There is so much to love in this book – and Daphne Du Maurier is one of the masters of suspense.

Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again . . .
The novel begins in Monte Carlo, where our heroine is swept off her feet by the dashing widower Maxim de Winter and his sudden proposal of marriage. Orphaned and working as a lady’s maid, she can barely believe her luck. It is only when they arrive at his massive country estate that she realizes how large a shadow his late wife will cast over their lives–presenting her with a lingering evil that threatens to destroy their marriage from beyond the grave.
