Each week we bring you crafting ideas you can share with your family. Have you ever noticed that I have a few “core” items I use often? This week I wanted to prepare you for the busy holiday crafting season that will start soon with Back to School teacher ideas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas by sharing with you basic crafting supplies you can have at home, you too can make awesome crafts.
We are talking basic crafting supplies:
- Crafting scissors
- I have a good pair of Fiskar’s but I reach for a regular pair in my kitchen mostly. Just as long as it cuts well.
- Hot Glue Gun/glue sticks *Always have a bag of sticks just in case also. I’ve found myself having to run to the store in the middle of a craft project.
- Classroom glue or
- modpodge
- Here’s a list of a few of my own personal staples:
- Acrylic paints & brushes (variety of colors)
- Googly eyes (I actually have a small jar that is separated into 4 sections with different sized eyes!)
- Felt sheets
- Washi Tape
- Popsicle sticks (have the family enjoy some popsicles then save the sticks!)
- Mismatched Fabric remnants
- Different colored ribbons
- Tissue Paper
- Holiday stickers/decor
- Needle/thread
If you have the space, collect your empty paper towel rolls, empty toilet paper rolls. Have you noticed I love using those in my crafts? It’s all about teaching the kids to use everyday items in our home. I know what you are thinking, “I don’t have a whole room to devote to crafting.” You can find a small sized tote and fit all of your basic supplies in it.
So keep your totes full and let’s get ready for fun and easy crafts coming in the coming weeks. I really enjoy making easy and fun crafts for all ages!
Happy Crafting!
