Good day, dear readers!
This year has started off with a bit of a zip, and of course, some great reads too! We are diving into “The Last Camel Died At Noon” this month. Amelia Peabody always packs a punch with her books, and with a twist of humor and a bit of crime. The setting of Egypt is always welcome too. I love having a bit of a desert adventure, especially when its cold outside!
February is going to swing around before we know it, and while we are still reeling from the last of the holiday crazy, we are already looking ahead at great books! Next, we are going to traveling through England, with Charles Dickens’ classic adventure “Great Expectations.” Grab the excerpt below, and then get your copy! Let’s have some fabulous book adventures this year!
Great Expectations Excerpt via Goodreads:
In what may be Dickens’s best novel, humble, orphaned Pip is apprenticed to the dirty work of the forge but dares to dream of becoming a gentleman — and one day, under sudden and enigmatic circumstances, he finds himself in possession of “great expectations.” In this gripping tale of crime and guilt, revenge and reward, the compelling characters include Magwitch, the fearful and fearsome convict; Estella, whose beauty is excelled only by her haughtiness; and the embittered Miss Havisham, an eccentric jilted bride.
