- 2 -14 ounce cans chickpeas (also called garbanzo beans), drained
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 4 jalapeno peppers, deseeded & fresh is best
- 4 cloves garlic (this can be optional if you are not a garlic person)
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
Put everything except the cilantro in a food processor or a blender works too. Mix until its all smooth & don’t be shy to add extra liquid if you need to. It should be smooth & creamy textured.
Then add the cilantro in and done!
If you don’t like garlic, don’t worry. You really can’t go wrong making your own hummus since its really just mashed beans made however you want. I prefer the spicy red hummus over others. Go all out and try olive hummus too!
