The MMS Summer Reading Program Is HERE!

Are you ready for some fun!? Join the MMS Summer Reading Program! This summer we are going to be playing Book Bingo. It is going to be so much fun! So let’s get ready to journey into realms unknown! Reading is so much fun anyway, we are just going to add to it! The program runs from 1 July 2019 – 31 August 2019! Get started today!

Summer is meant to be fun, and full of relaxation. I can think of nothing better than sitting down with a great book and reading the warm days away. If you have an outdoor sitting area, you can get some sun, while watching the kids play, and still get some reading in. Hammocks are also a great way to kick back and read, and maybe take a short nap as well. As kids, we wanted nothing more than to get out of school for break, and spend the days running around with friends. As we grow older, we can watch our kids going through the same phases, but look back on fond memories of summer. One of my favorite activities was always the summer reading programs. It encouraged reading, but also had some fun prizes for completing certain goals. It gave us something to work toward when we needed to get out of the sun for a bit, and take a breather. Do you remember what your favorite prizes were? One summer, I won a baseball from the local semi-pro team, and got to throw out the first pitch. I also was able to get some gift cards to purchase more books.

This summer, like I said, we are going to be doing Book Bingo. Get the entire family involved! Libraries are great for finding books to share together, or fill up on those adventures that you cannot get enough of!

Here is how it will work:

1. Join the MMS Book Club – you can do this on your profile, by clicking the little box that says, “I want to join the book club.”
2. Send me an email at bookclub@mymilitarysavings.com – and let me know who is participating! For kids, please include ages, so we can put them into the correct age bracket.
3. The top readers in each section will win a gift card for Barnes and Noble.
4. A random winner will be drawn from each section to win a gift card from Barnes and Noble.
5. Get your sheets and start stamping your way to Book Bingo!
6. HAVE FUN!
