Jim has run off from his companions with a hair-brained idea that might save or sink them. He is not sure what he will do, but getting the ship to a safer location is his only thought. With the ship entirely in his hands, he anchors it and then makes his way back to the stronghold where he left the Squire and Doctor. When he gets there though, he finds the pirates and not his friends as he thought. He quickly becomes the captive of Captain Silver, and is not sure what will happen to him. When Silver approaches him about saving his life, Jim is completely mystified, but he promises to do his best for the pirate who has always had a soft spot for him.
When the doctor comes to visit the sick pirates, he is surprised to see Jim there, but once they talk, he understands what is going on and promises to do what he can to get them out. The pirates only have one thing on their mind and that is finding the treasure that is hidden on the island. While they are following the map, Jim wonders how they were able to get a hold of it. But Silver keeps him close, and just when he feels that there might be no hope left, there is the sound of a voice that turns the pirates to quaking…
